![]() ![]() They know of bayonetta, there just like "yeh i never tried that, but that dmc though. What i find strange is so many people i've talked to over the years just blow bayonetta off, yet they have herd of it. dmc combat is bland in comparison and less in depth. I still think its crazy this game isn't more popular than DMC series for example. And now I’m really scared for Bayo3 sales and possible perception because at the end of the day Nintendo still a corporation and it makes me scared if Bayo3 didn’t sell well, then that’s it for the gunslinger series and move on to create a Zelda game for the 45th time To be fair Bayonetta is still a niche series, people mostly know her as the character and not the game, I’ve seen a lot of people know her as “the character from smash” or the as the “sexy power fantasy female character that is empowering and isn’t degrading” but most of the time I find people not knowing she literally have a whole series to her name! Which is very interesting and kind sad, which is why I’m scared for Bayonetta 3 I just hope it sells well, I firmly believe the reason we got Bayonetta 3 despite the poor sales of 2 is that Nintendo realized they did a mistake by strapping the game to a flopping console, and also realized how Bayonetta still have a strong fanbase and how the switch port of 2 and 1 performed very well, bayo2 on the switch outsold bayo2 WiiU just by a little bit. It's probably one of the reasons why Nintendo saved Bayo in the first place, despite their family-friendly image at the time: Nintendo saw something unique about it and knew that it would be an excellent addition to their range of IP's if it were to get popular, which it certainly has the potential to. Now they're holding off, because if Bayo 3 sells well on Switch (which it definetly has a chance to given the success of Astral Chain even among casual players), Nintendo has another semi-popular to popular exclusive IP on their hands. On Wii U, Bayo 2 was an oppertunity to sell more consoles, even if it was relatively niche. And Platinum Games doesn't care too much: they get to do what they do best and they get paid for it, regardless of whether or not it'll sell well. ![]() Unfortunately, as it stands at the moment Nintendo has very little to gain from partnering up with other companies and releasing Bayo 2 and 3 on multiple platforms. ![]()
